Four of us represented Metamora Martial Arts at yesterday’s Midwest Cup at the Shirk Center in Bloomington.

Between us, we took home two 2nd place and two 1st place medals!

Hosted by Walker’s Martial Arts at the Shirk Center on the campus of Illinois Wesleyan University, more than 235 competitors from 33 schools competed to find out who was the best in forms, sparring, and breaking.

Adam Bockler

  • 2nd place forms

Dorian

  • 1st place forms
  • 1st place sparring

This was Dorian’s first tournament!

Broen

  • 4th place forms

This was Broen’s 2nd tournament following the Sah Doh Kuk Sul tournament in April.

Weston

  • 4th place forms
  • 2nd place sparring

This is Weston’s third tournament, first competing at last year’s Midwest Cup.

Thank you to all of the volunteers—judges, referees, scorekeepers, timekeepers, medical, and otherwise—and, of course, the Walker team for helping to make this a great experience for student and their families!

And a special thanks to our friends and family members who came out to support us!
