Karate students and parents should bookmark this page! This page contains the minimum requirements for you or your student to earn their next rank. Practice outside of class is expected for students as they level up—this page will help you or your student practice at home.
Students looking for promotion must know all of their previous requirements. For example, a yellow belt looking to test for orange belt must know all of the white and yellow belt requirements—they cannot forget their white belt requirements. Basics are the foundation of what we do. Without good basic techniques, advanced techniques will fail. Use this page to review all of the techniques required at each rank.

White Belt, 0 Stripes (Kukyu)
Everything you’ll need to be promoted from a white belt with 0 stripes to a white belt with 1 stripe (hachikyu).
White Belt, 1 Stripe (Hachikyu)
Everything you’ll need to be promoted from a white belt with 1 stripe to a white belt with 2 stripes (nanakyu).
White Belt, 2 Stripes (Nanakyu)
Everything you’ll need to be promoted from a white belt with 2 stripes to a yellow belt (rokkyu).
Yellow Belt (Rokkyu)
Everything you’ll need to be promoted from a yellow belt to an orange belt (gokyu).
Orange Belt (Gokyu)
Everything you’ll need to be promoted from an orange belt to a green belt (yonkyu).
Green Belt (Yonkyu)
