Build Confidence, Discipline, and Strength with Karate

Whether you or your child want to develop focus, improve physical fitness, or build self-defense skills, our classes provide the perfect foundation for students ages 8+.

Core Karate Class

Metamora Martial Arts has been an amazing opportunity for our son. He has loved learning from Sensei Adam, who is patient, kind, talented, and knowledgeable. Our son is learning more than just karate moves. He is learning the importance of lessons like courage, integrity, and more. Highly, highly recommend.

What Students Will Learn

In our Karate Core Class, our instructors will work closely with students to master essential techniques like stances, strikes, blocks, and kata, all while building physical fitness and mental strength. They’ll develop resilience, focus, discipline, self-control, and self-confidence—skills that benefit them in school, sports, and life. With just two classes a week, your child could achieve a black belt in approximately 3 and a half years. Karate is more than a martial art; it’s a pathway to becoming a stronger, more confident individual.

Class Structure

Students can expect the following from a class:

  1. Warm-ups
  2. Basics review
  3. Rank requirements review
  4. Character development

Class Schedule

Our core karate classes are held on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings at the Metamora Park District office on the historic Metamora square.

I'm ready to get started. What's next?

We've never done karate before. Can we join?

How much does it cost?

We provide transparent pricing for all of our classes.

Families may sign up for a discount.

Do I need a uniform right away?

Do you have a class specifically for beginners?

Absolutely! Our Tuesday evening class is dedicated specifically for beginner students.

Which night should I (or my student) attend class?

When students reach their yellow belt, they’re typically invited to attend the Wednesday class if they can. That class typically has more advanced students.

However, students can attend either class that works for them.

For example, we’ll often have students in Wednesday class who take class on Tuesdays if they have a Wednesday conflict.
